Grace and I wanted to do a fashion experiment consisting of only one rule: Take fall's fur trend
and interpret it each in our own way. Then compare results! Oftentimes, people will dismiss trends. Saying that if you follow them you're falling in line. Sure, this can be true... but only if you lack the imagination to put your own spin on said trend. (Which most definitely did not occur
here.) But forget that, here's Grace's take on her look:

I feel like there are two directions you can go with fur. The fully committed, floor cascading, glamorous fur coat Marlene Dietrich way. Or you can go the haphazard route which MK Olsen so non-chalantly paved for us. I'm sure it's apparent which side of the fence I fall on.

I wore my family heirloom mink slapped over a little sheer button-down, over a little sheer dress. I'm a big fan of all the soft whites and diaphanous looks on the spring runways. Heck, it's not
even winter and all I want to wear is white gauzy things! To keep it a little less boudoir, I grounded the look with some black ribbed thigh highs and my trusty vintage Doc-wannabes. Another huge plus when it comes to fur dressing: it is so easy to justify unkempt hair!

To see my take on fur, and check out Grace's sick personal style, click on over to Squarectomy!

Loving everything about this; the fur, the background, the vintage DM's...<33

Beautiful! I love Grace's outfit and these photos as well! I think I like the cropped fur jackets better then the long floor length ones. When I think floor length fur jackets I think of old hollywood. And when I think short cropped ones I think fun and flirty. I mean I know you can play with both but I i just tend to lend towards the cropped ones. Esp. the leopard print cropped ones ;)

Wow! This is one take on fur that I actually adore. And is it just me, or does Grace look SO MUCH like Kate Hudson a la Penny Lane in Almost Famous. Seriously, the hair, the fur...love it!! :)

Love both interpretations of the short faux fur jackets. The cream jacket was a nice surprise since most often fur comes in fairly dark colours.

I completely agree with you about trends. It's okay to wear them, but you definitely need to put your own spin on it so it's not just like what everyone else is wearing.

I love this look on Grace. That coat is perfection! It looks so warm and cozy! :)

Interesting mix of different textures and colors. I think the narrow color palette makes it really work.
