Spring Essentials

spring.fashion.2012

So ready for Spring fashion right now. Go to hell jackets, dreary colors and tights! All I want in my closet right now are light as air neutrals, micro-mini shorts, leather ankle booties and simplistic accessories.

If you'd asked me five or six years ago to describe my fashion sense I probably would have said something to the affect of, "I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl." While my high school self makes me shudder and eye-roll simultaneously -- seriously -- I would still have to agree. I've welcomed all sorts of oddities into my closet since then, but nothing feels more natural than a lived-in tee and perfectly fitted denim.

Okay, real talk... I have not taken this coat off since it arrived at my doorstep about a week ago. I've worn it to work, to the mall, to the sketchy market across the street from my house. You get the idea. If I'm being perfectly honest here, my life is far from glamorous most days. I roll out of bed too early, I commute, I work 40 plus hours a week. Being able to drape this beauty over my shoulders while going about my day has been a treat.

It's the little things that make life sweet. And hell, if a mega-calorie coffee drink or gorgeous coat will make you smile, I'm all for it. So props to LA-based brand C.Z. Falconer for the amazing coat and for making my week a little bit brighter!

Fringe Wings

And so the fringe obsession continues. Dresses, shoes, tops... All I need now is a pair of fringed pants. And believe you me, I've been looking. I've also managed to acquire my second pair of leopard print pants. Oh and let's not even talk about how many pairs of chunky-heeled ankle booties I own. (The shame!) As you can see, if a trend strikes my fancy I will compulsively try to acquire more of it. Until next time everyone.

Oh, hello there 2012! After a [way too long] break, I am back from the east coast, back from sitting on my ass and back to blogging. In reality though, it was nice to step away. I have new appreciation for the hobby I throw so much of my free time at. If things go according to plan, 2012 will be of vastly higher quality than 2011. Blog-wise and personally. That's a resolution I can get behind.

My friends, boyfriend, co-workers -- hell even my cat -- probably wish this coat would crawl in a hole and die. (I wear it a lot.) Sorry, not happening. Also, do you recognize the shorts? They were pants that fit me all sorts of awkward. Enter me cutting them with scissors this morning... The things a strategic snip-snip can do!
